...thought it was high time for some Canadian content, and these guys check the box in spades. U.S.S., or Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker, started in Toronto back in 2007, and actually met a few years earlier while stocking the beer fridge (what's more Canadian than that, eh?) at the 19th hole of a local golf course. Their love of music drew them together, and from this, Ashley Buchholz aka Ash Boo-Schultz (vocals, guitars, erhu) and Jason "Human Kebab" Parsons (turntables/hype man) began their 'Nirvana-Unplugged-meets-a-glow-stick-laden-rave mission. The band name came to fruition when Ash Boo-Schultz put together a detailed life-plan of the person that he wanted to be. The title of this life plan? Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker, which basically sums up the styles of music that merge together in their songs, as well as the divergent personalities of the two performers that create the music. And this video/song couldn't be a better example of the mishmashed glory that is U.S.S.
