Being referred to as the "Wyld Stallyns Of Country Music" may not be every band's cup of tea (dream? desire?), but it's a badge that Jeremiah Thunderclap And The Dakota Polecats wear with pride.
How they came to be is about as serendipitous as you can get - they met each other on the same day while visiting the Country Music Hall Of Fame with different groups. "I was looking at the ____ display when I bumped into (drummer) Clint," remarks lead singer Jeremiah Sheridan, "and we got to talking about our love of country and what we thought was missing from the current scene." Bassist Nikki-Lynn Jackson was taking a tour group around when another future band member asked an insightful question. "Actually," says Nikki-Lynn, "Clem (multi-instrumentlist Clementine Lubbock) was a tour guide at the Hall Fame too, so we were friends already and had actually performed together too."
Lead guitarist Fetu Sulu'ape Fa'aso'otauloa jumps in and continues the story. "I was the one who asked Nikki-Lynn the question! I wanted to know if the Hall Of Fame had any footage of (Alabama band lead singer) Randy Owen's hair regimen in the 80's. She had a good laugh at first, but when she realized I was dead serious, she told me to stay back after the tour to meet Clem.
