Caught between two of the most opposite worlds possible, Harm To Ongoing Matter walks the finest of lines to merely exist. The four members graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown Law School and now work at various high-profile Washington D.C. law firms and political thinktanks. But how did they make the leap to forming a politically militant band that is the sonic equivalent of Rage Against The Fugazi?
"We were all in punk bands in high school and started talking about it during study sessions and mock trials at Georgetown," says Kabuki Kid. "We all missed the sheer passion and raw aggression of playing in a straight-up four piece. And the more we talked about it, the more we realized we can fight the good fight from the outside and from the inside."
And just how do they go about it? Subterfuge, distraction and cool masks. "We needed to come up with reverse secret identities so as to not get fired from our equally important day jobs," explains Lucha. "Nicknames and costume store masks are just part of the illusion. We also have our fans figure out a secret code in order to find out the location of each gig. We also switch social media platforms for each announcement, or just promote on good old stapled concert posters. Our bosses never look at those."
