Eschewing the sights and sounds of Portland because it was too mainstream, Bend, Oregon's My Sweaty Cats evokes the musical stylings of a lovechild sprung from a Pavement/Sebadoh/Neutral Milk Hotel-inspired ménage à trois.
Their debut EP, "Fi-Fi, Lo-Fi", is best listened to on a Fisher Price record player.
The band lives and dies by the musical and romantic partnership of Greg Montagne and Marianne Lavallee. The Cats' 8-year absence from the music scene was due the couple's urge to start a commune on the outskirts of Bend.
From that hiatus came 2013's Dry Banana Hippy Hat (and some of the best goats' cheese in Deschutes County).
