Whether it's Seattle grunge, London punk or L.A. glam, every music scene has a close-knit, pseudo-family atmosphere. Bands come and go, but the players stay the same... only in different configurations.
"Ivana Rökk (lead guitarist) and I were in Death Cheetah at the time," reminisces lead singer Aurora Borealyxx, "and we saw this great band opening at the Troubadour one night - Headmistress - and their bass player was the second coming of Lemmy Kilmister. Her name was Kay Oss. Our band had kinda plateaued and both Ivana and I knew we needed to make a change, but we didn't how much we needed it until we saw Kay that night."
Aurora continues: "We approached Kay after the show and lucky for us she was feeling the same way with her situation. Kay had a good friend from high school that played drums and sounded like the lovechild of Keith Moon of The Who and Animal from The Muppet Show... as gross an image as that is. Kay brought her friend, Barbie Cyde, down to our L.A. warehouse rehearsal space and it was like a grenade of kickass went off! We fired out four songs in a couple of hours, which ended becoming our EP, 'Six-Six-Six'.
