Astral Daggers "Geodesic" shirt
When Lionel Murphy and Sebastien Laroux formed Astral Daggers, the goal was to not to be recognized as musicians, but as sonic architects.
"Sebastien was even studying at the National School of Architecture of Versailles when we met," Lionel recalls, "while I was working as bartender/DJ at the Rex Club in Paris. Lionel didn't know his way around a synth or drum machine but is a genius with AutoCAD. With my compose-by-feeling/vibe and his analytical approach, we were the perfect combination."
And what's the connection with the geodesic shapes? "We often used them as graphics at our shows to add a hypnotic texture to the sonic architecture. Heck - we'd just look at them for hours just to get inspired. Think I'll go look at some right now..."
