The loudest band in the world? Not Brainhammer. But that doesn't concern the boys too much. "The Who were #1 for a time at 126 dB (decibels), then Motörhead (129.5 dB) and Manowar (130 dB) beat 'em out," notes bassist and amateur music historian Ricky MacCranium. "A jet plane taking off is 150 dB, and we thought about recording one for a song just to be #1, but where does that get us? Brainhammer's about the music, man."
That doesn't mean the band isn't proud of their standing. "We reached 129.75 dB in Prague in 2015, and we reached 297 bpm (beats per minute) on our song "Eat Your Fear", so second loudest and third fastest band is fine with us. We are looking into having a working jet engine onstage next tour, so things could change..."
