Lucy Bennett - vocals, keyboards/keytar, percussion
Frederico Colletini - guitars, bass, percussion
Known as the Bonnie & Clyde of the indie pop scene, The Debt Pandas will steal your heart with their dreamy/groovy melodies,
or shred that same heart with their devastatingly raw lyrics - inspired by Lucy and Frederico's passionate-yet-volatile romantic relationship.
"We met at what is now our favorite vegan organic coffeehouse in Milan," Lucy says. "I was craving a soy milk 1/4-caf non-fat latte, and my eyes locked onto Freddy's, who was my barista. After spending the next few hours (and he getting fired because he wouldn't stop talking to me) sharing our hopes, dreams and love of The Pixies, Aqua and Belle & Sebastian. We dated for 3 months, broke up then got back together 2 days later. We've been breaking up (after every tour) and getting back together (when we have enough song ideas for a writing session) ever since."
The reason for no new material in 15 years? Two kids, a 6-door minivan and a bungalow in Tucson. "Marital bliss has killed our creativity," laments Frederico. "She'll give me a wedgie or I'll leave the toilet seat up to start some friction, but we don't get pissed off enough to start anything. I'm getting desperate to write music with Lucy, and I might have to stoop to nonstop prankage to get things going."
